Linmere development reaches new milestone as plans for Area Masterplan 3 are approved.
Area Masterplan 3 (AMP3) is the latest phase for the exciting plans for the Linmere development which has now been approved by Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC).
AMP3 will deliver up to 1,200 new homes alongside new parks, open space, commercial and community facilities, primary school, hotel and pub on site.
The proposals responded positively to the natural assets and local characteristics of the site, which is crossed by the Houghton Brook to the south, the Woodside Link to the east, the Kingsland Campus to the north west and a planning application (not part of Linmere) to the west.
Average building heights will be between 2.5-3 storeys with a landmark building at 5 storeys to respond to the gateway approach from Woodside and Sundon Link.
The Houghton Regis Management Consortium (HRMC) hosted a programme of virtual online consultations throughout July and August 2020. The public consultation included engagement with members of the public which included the opportunity to respond by feedback form and a series of video calls with several key local stakeholders from a diverse
background, including political, education, health, and business groups, which has informed the planning application.
Nigel Reid, Development Director of HRMC said: “We would like to thank residents who took the time to give their feedback and engage on the AMP3 virtual consultation during these challenging times. The feedback has been used to help shape the proposals further and we are delighted to submit an application for AMP3. We are pleased the proposals have been approved.”
