The sun shines on Summer in the Park

A great number of Linmere residents and neighbours joined us at Linmere Park for this year’s Summer in the Park celebration, hosted by the Land Trust, on Saturday 22 August.

The park was full of activity throughout the day, with families enjoying hours of entertainment, new experiences and plenty of opportunities to catch up with Linmere partners, local community groups, along with friends and neighbours.

The ever-popular seven-metre climbing tower returned, with adventurous visitors strapping into their harnesses and testing their head for heights. Younger residents also had fun learning new circus skills and putting their balance, coordination and performance abilities to the test.

Teaching Talons brought along a fascinating collection of furry, feathery and scaly friends. Visitors had the chance to meet bugs and creepy-crawlies, Albert the Parrot, Norbert the Bearded Dragon and the gorgeous Pig the Owl.

The Linmere Cycling Hub team was also kept busy, offering friendly advice, useful maintenance tips and basic bike checks to help residents prepare for more rides around the local area.

Summer in the Park was also a great opportunity to meet some of the groups and organisations that contribute so much to our community, including the local Girl Guides, Houghton Regis Heritage Society and the All Saints Church.

We were also joined by bpha and Barratt Homes, who brought some free cakes and merchandise, both confirming how well-attended their stands were and some excellent engagement with residents.

A big thank you to the Land Trust and all our partners for their support, enthusiasm and attendance. Most importantly, thank you to everyone from Linmere and the surrounding community who came along and helped create such a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere.

We’ve gathered some images from the day, as well as some video highlights! We hope you had as much fund as we did!
