Co-op Food opens on Linmere Phase One

Everyday essentials are now closer to home, with a brand-new Central Co-op Food store opening at Linmere’s neighbourhood centre, opposite Thornhill School.

The 3,000-square-foot store employs 15 local people and marks an exciting step forward for Linmere. With three more retail outlets opening soon, the neighbourhood centre will transform access to shops and services for residents on Phase One and, in time, Phase Four.

Councillor Michelle Herber joins the Co-op site and regional team to welcome residents to the new premises.

Everyday shopping, with plenty of choice

Open 7am–10pm, seven days a week, the store stocks fruit and vegetables, fresh meat, flowers, wines, spirits and chilled beer, alongside household essentials.

An in-store bakery, hot and cold food-to-go options and frozen ready meals from COOK offer plenty of choice for busy days. Customers also have access to parking, cycle storage hoops and easy access to Silver Birch Park.

The new store offers a wealth of choices, brands and everyday essentials.

A community-minded approach

Owned by its members, including colleagues and customers, Central Co-op combines everyday convenience with a commitment to ethical and sustainable retail. Its ranges include affordable Honest Value products, vegan options and Free From choices.

Beyond the shelves, it supports community projects, stocks locally sourced products and helps vulnerable people access food, with a purpose that goes beyond profit.
