The Linmere development team have been working in partnership with the Environment Agency to complete the Houghton Brook flood storage area.
This project is now operational and will reduce the risk of flooding to a number of homes, roads and commercial buildings in Luton. There are now large flood water storage areas, new cycle paths, trees, grasslands and improved nature areas for people and wildlife.
Much of the new landscape that has been created will sit in parkland within the Linmere development as public open space.
