This year’s Summer in the Park drew a large crowd to Linmere Park on Saturday 10 August. Many residents and local neighbours joined us for 3 hours of fun-packed entertainment, with the weather staying dry (for once!).
The 30ft Climbing Tower provided a centre-piece attraction, with queues of new climbers from start to finish, perhaps inspired by the fantastic climbing events at the Olympics! Ark Animal Farm encounters proved to be extremely popular, with Diana the Python as the star guest, who calmly greeted brave guests wanting to get their chance to cradle her.
Helen, and the Solstice Story Telling circle, weaved her magic tales, whilst the Linmere Team hosted a Sports & Fun day, with relays, egg & spoon and sack races, with an impressive and committed participation from our younger residents and neighbours.
It was a perfect community afternoon on Linmere Park, with many visitors staying most of the afternoon. We want to pass our thanks to Marlen from The Land Trust, for hosting the overall event and to Emma, Olivia and Chris from the Linmere Team, for bringing so much fun and atmosphere, and to everyone who attended and the kind messages we received.
Enjoy the video and the pics below – thanks for making it a memorable day on Linmere Park!
