Leagrave Shuttlebus Pilot Launches

Shuttle Bus Services end September 2025

Central Bedfordshire Council have ceased funding of the trial Shuttle Bus service, between Linmere and Leagrave station. Whilst usage did improve over the trial period, it wasn’t enough to justify the investment, with the service ceasing in September 2025.

With the provision of the Jo Bus Service, providing a fast connection into Luton Interchange and Luton Rail Station, the council deemed this service does provide a cheap, sustainable means of connecting to the mainline railway, through public transport. The 7-day service, connects Linmere directly with Luton Interchange, 11 times a day, Monday to Saturday, and 2 departures on Sunday. This new, and now updated, service operated by Grant Palmer, in conjunction with Central Beds Council, provides Linmere residents with a cheap, frequent and fast connection into the heart of Luton. Jo Bus services start from Box Crescent (at the Pocket Park), from 06:54am, with another 10 departures, approximately every hour, up until 16:55pm (Monday to Saturday).
